Why do we breed our own livestock?
Purebred or Cross?
Our goal on the farm is to raise a healthy, happy product for our customers. With that goal in mind it is our philosophy that the finished product can only be as good as the inputs to it. This starts with the breeding of livestock on the farm. This gives us the ability to graze and raise the animals as we see best fit their whole lives, guaranteeing that we can control the use of dewormers, antibiotics and other chemical exposures throughout the animals lifetime. We also want to make sure the animals are loved and happy for their time with us. Animals we raise here on the farm are scratched, pet, talked to and loved on everyday. All of our animals are good natured or they do not stay on the farm. We invite you to come out to the farm to meet them and get to know our breeding stock throughout the coming years.
Being a relatively new farm we are still trying out many different breeds across all the species of animals we raise. When it comes to some of the species we have had good experiences with crosses and others we like a pure bred animal. Over time we will continue to seek our customers feedback as we try new breeds, crosses and even species. For a current list of the animals we raise see below:
